Creative research tool for environmental monitoring.
Sonatas from the Colony is a tool for making people more environmentally conscious but also to observe and record micro-ecological processes. It does so by using live data sonification and motion detection using ant locomotion data.
Conceptualised and presented at the CCI 2023 Showcase, this project first existed as an interactive installation where its potential to be used beyond an exhibit was realised.
